How It Works

  1. Connect: Add your storage targets in the Settings panel.
  2. Index: The app scans your files and builds a Meilisearch index.
  3. Search: Users get instant, typo-tolerant search results via the web interface.

Indexed file types

Every file is indexed by name and location (unless you exclude it). Some formats are also indexed by content for full-text search.

File extension Indexed as Comment
.txt, .md, .csv, other text/* name / location / content Plain text; cheap to parse.
.html, .htm, .xml name / location / content HTML/XML tags stripped to text.
.pdf (text-based) name / location / content Extracted with a lightweight PDF text library.
.docx name / location / content Word documents parsed via a focused text extractor.
.xlsx, .ods (spreadsheets) name / location / content Sheets flattened to CSV-style text.
.pptx, Apple iWork files name / location Content libraries are too heavy for this app.
Image-only PDFs name / location OCR would require a large engine, deferred for now.
Other binaries name / location No meaningful text to index or library too heavy.

Desktop Agent

Index files from your local computer and push them to your SRTD cloud instance. The desktop agent respects your configuration and only indexes what you tell it to.
